Patterson takes a poke at Hackel

L. Brooks Patterson, who gets along famously with fellow county executive Mark Hackel, loves to poke a little fun at Macomb County’s main man.

Patterson, who still uses a wheelchair, broke his elbow Monday night while exiting his car at C.J.Barrymore’s in Clinton Township. The Oakland County executive was there to attend a Hackel fundraiser.

On this morning’s “Spotlight on the News”on WXYZ-TV, Patterson said he believes Hackel may be positioning himself for a future run for governor.

How can he be sure?

“Somebody asked me how I broke my arm,” he said, “and I said I got between Mark Hackel and a TV camera.”
