Tea Party "PowWow" scheduled for Indian casino

A Tea Party “PowWow” slated for Mount Pleasant is being billed as “one of the largest gathering of statewide grassroots activists in recent memory.”
Scheduled for next Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Indian casino, Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, this "Taking The Field” event will be a joint political rally for Michigan tea party organizations and the Citizens For Liberty groups.

Todd Courser of Lapeer County, a frequent critic of mainstream Republicans, has sent out email invitations with this sales pitch:
“I will be speaking along with many other activists and leaders. Everyone who is anyone in the grassroots movement will be there so you better be too!”

The event carries a $10 price tag, which includes lunch. If you’re interested go online to http://plainwellpatriots-es2.eventbrite.com/?rank=1II.

I'm not sure what the Native American tribes in the Mount Pleasant area will think of an event that is billed as a “pow wow.” Who knows, maybe Trucker Randy Bishop will show up in a Washington Redskins jersey.
