The Hill is reporting on a potential breakthrough in the shutdown/debt ceiling fight in Congress -- another bipartisan, bicameral supercommittee. Though the last congressional supercommittee was a failure, sputtering to a humble end, the idea has been resurrected on Capitol Hill.
Here is what The Hill's Erik Wasson is reporting:
"The House will vote as soon as Tuesday on forming a special committee of House and Senate members to work out a deal on re-opening the government and raising the debt ceiling.
Lawmakers will separately vote on legislation to pay essential federal personnel, including those working right now and Capitol Hill police, while the shutdown continues."
