Just a few years ago, from 2002-06, anyone who opposed the Iraq war was considered unpatriotic. Now Rand Paul, who opposed the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, is being hailed as a hero on Facebook. Republicans used to laugh at liberals, with justification, about grabbing American citizens fighting with the Taliban on the Afghan battlefield and reading them their rights. Now, those same Republicans, the Obama haters, say that any American citizen accused of helping the Taliban or al-Quaida should be read their rights, arrested and given a full trial in a U.S. court.
