March Madness sparks a flurry of Harvard jokes online

Harvard’s stunning victory over New Mexico late last night – the school’s first win in the men’s NCAA basketball tourney – continues to produce a torrent of jokes on Twitter.

My favorite (though not verbatim) was: So sorry, America, that we ruined your brackets, especially after we ruined the nation’s financial system and economy in 2008-09.

Other favorites:
I thought Harvard students learned to buy basketball teams, not really play the game.
Harvard: 7 US presidents, 19 Supreme Court Justices, 46 Nobel laureates and now, 1 NCAA tournament victory
This is the first time #Harvard students have heard the word “brackets” mentioned without “tax” ahead of it.
With Harvard's win, just 1,339 perfect brackets remain of 8.15 million on ESPN.com. Just 5.6% of entries picked Harvard to win

I am getting reports that some students are rioting at Harvardright now, and by rioting I mean talking quite loudly in the library.
And here is a Twitter pic of a wild celebration on the Harvard campus. No couches burning here:
