Dave Jaye at peace with his controversial past

Former state representative Dave Jaye is living overseas again and is “at peace” with his controversial past, according to Jack Brandenburg.
Brandenburg, a Republican state senator from Harrison Township, had lunch with Macomb County’s infamous former lawmaker last week at a Shelby Township restaurant.

Jaye, who still spends part of the year in Florida, was in Michigan to visit his brother. Jaye had previously landed a local government job in Florida but he is now back to teaching English as a second language eight months a year in Asia, according to Brandenburg.

The senator said Jaye keeps tabs on Michigan and Detroit area news events and “he still knows his stuff.”
“He’s toned down a lot,” Brandenburg added. “He looked well. I think ... he’s at peace.”
