Quality ratings another stick in the eye for those who said let GM, Chrysler die

Reason No. 122 why those who wanted to let General Motors and Chrysler go bankrupt have been proven wrong ...

The new J.D. Power study of car quality is out and GM, other than the elite automaker Porsche, is at the top of the heap. GMC ranked second among the world's 33 brands and Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac all earned ratings above the industry average.
Based on "initial quality" (out-the-door quality), J.D. Power found that the best large car on the globe is the Chevy Impala. Of course, that car would no longer exist if the Southern senators had gotten their wish and GM had passed away.
Best minivan? The Chrysler Town & Country. Again, that vehicle would be RIP if the temporary bridge loans were not offered to Chrysler. By the way, Chrysler also had an overall J.D. power score that was above the industry average.
Best large light-duty pickup? A tie between the Chevrolet Avalanche and the GMC Sierra.
Best mid-size sporty car? The Chevy Camaro -- tied with the Ford Mustang.
Best large premium SUV? Cadillac Escalade.
Best large heavy-duty pickup? Chevy Silverado HD.

Do you detect a pattern here?
I suspect even those intellectually challenged Southern senators who said "nobody wants to buy American cars" could connect the dots on the J.D. Power list.

After the federal loans were paid off well ahead of time and the automakers have posted huge profits and GM and Chrysler have added tens of thousands of new jobs and American cars now exceed foreign cars in quality, we now learn this: Those who said in 2008-09 that Congress should let the car companies die were, well, dead wrong.
Hey, Sens. Shelby, Corker and Sessions, I'm still waiting for your apologies.
